It almost looks lost and alone in that picture, can anyone give it good home?

Very hard to figure out if this wagon is worth $4500 from just one picture.

I'd be all over this one if it was $2500-$3000.

Yes, somebody contact this guy and tell him he's standing way too close to the car. We can still tell it's a Chevy. He needs to back up another 200 or 300 feet, or at least far enough so we can't tell the make.

He probably has a camera with an A/C adapter, and, with the cord stretched to the limit, this is as close as he could get.

Looks like it needs a good bit of attention. The paint is beyond thin and there have been some poorly done repairs to that quarter. I think the $2,500 mark is closer to realistic.

Too lazy to paste up the body side moldings? Says a lot. (And not good.)

How can you tell all this? There's only the one photo taken from about 50 feet away. I can barely tell it's a car.

Can you read the VIN for us, too? :)

He was hoping you wouldn't notice that! That's why he stood so far away.

Jaunty, I could see that on the tiny screen on my phone. There is rust/patina on the roof above the rear door, and that is a sure sign the roof is very thin LM paint. Seen it a lot on GMs of this vintage. Look at the quarter, and the characterine is blurry, with a couple different shades of green, and the end of the bumper rub strip is missing. She is certainly worth saving, but it will take some time and effort.

He said the car was from San Antonio and that he has only had it since December. He's supposed to send me more pictures today. I asked him last night what his bottom dollar was on it and he said he was pretty firm on the price. I'd pay $2500 for it but not much more.

I would not attach much significance to this. No seller with half a brain would give away his hand just because someone casually asked him what his "bottom dollar" price was. I know I wouldn't. My bottom dollar price is my asking price. Until it's not.

If he were to give you an answer, he might as well just list the car at that price.

The only way to find out what his bottom dollar really is is to make him a bona fide offer. Until then, it's just talk.
