http://augusta.craigslist.org/cto/4565921351.html I don't usually like the look of wagons from the 50's, but there's something about this one I like.
This one has been for sale for sale for a while. I'm guessing 6 months to a year. It's definitely a great looking car.
When I was younger we had neighbors with Plymouth wagons around this year. I remember they rode nice but back then I really didn't like the looks. This model looks nice, especially in a 2-door.
It still has those clear vinyl coverings you used to be able to put on the seats. I don't know if you could get them from the factory that way; I think the dealer would install them. Wow, quite a find.
I remember my uncle, aunt, and grandparents always bought those seat covers. I ended up getting a set for my 1949 Dodge. They were cold in winter and slippery. Also had clear floor mats. I recently saw them advertised. Not sure if it was an old or new add. Dang i can't remember the name of the company that sold them.
When I was looking for a project, about 20 years ago, I found a non-running early 50's Plymouth 2 door wagon that i wanted to do badly. I couldn't get the owner to sell it reasonably, and wound up buying the 56 Studebaker President 2 door wagon instead..........kinda glad I did..........
1954 Plynouth I Like this car, BUT..... When you state in your ad One of the nicest Most Original ones around and then state: Repainted AND Motor re-build, it just kinda like What...???? There is nothing wrong with a re-paint OR mechanical re-build, but then it doesn't really stay in the "original class " Still, nice car!
Ooooooooooh! As I looked here again I remembered the name of that company that sold the clear bubble textured seat covers and other things. I was hoping another member would remember and comment. Cain't hardly git no good help no more! FINGERHUT ! How many of you remember ? They had a small thin mail order catalog of car accesories at least in the 50's-60's.
Yup. Remember those very well. Dad bought them for his first NEW car - a '63 ChevyII Nova hardtop. Really fun in the summer. Your legs end up looking like they were in a waffle iron.....
