    Nice!

At first glance, I thought that pickup truck had woodgrain. :rofl2:

Interesting picture, but Chevys being hauled by a Dodge???

I was hoping to see a GMC Brigadier!!!

(I'm also a big truck fan)

BTW, Tedy, Do you have a 305 V-6 in your pick-up?

, I also thought the Dodge was a bit out of place.

No I'm pritty origonal under the hood, no V6 gas pig ( a dam good engine none the less but a gas pig even for it's time ) 1barrel 250 inline 3 on the tree, even still has the 40+ year old origonal oil bath air cleaner and origonal wood deck, arm strong stearing and keep 500 feet between you and the car infront brakes if your on a down slope.

I love it, great truck on ice and snow...digs rite in

EDIT...forgot to mention it's slower than a city transit bus!!:p

Nothing wrong with a 250. My 2nd favorite straight 6.

I used to have a '66 GMC 1000 with a 305 V-6 and on the highway it would get 15 MPG. I kept it well tuned.

Also had a 305 in a '62 GMC 4000 and it did pretty good, especially for the torque performance it would get.

Used to drive a '62 GMC 6500 with the 478 V-6. I never figured out the MPG, but we guessed at about a 7 to 9 average. It would haul a whole house full of lumber tho (less the trusses). The '71 GMC 9500 I also used to drive had a 637 V-8 (like a 478 with 2 extra cylinders). We guess that one at 5 to 7, but that truck would haul a full house load of lumber, trusses included, with roof shingles to boot.

...back to the picture. I like the Corvette in the middle.

    Very cool! :thumbs2:

Our neighbor (who still lives down the street) had a blue 1977 Impala 4dr sedan identical to that blue one... even the same color. That was around 1985-87 when she had it.

Those Impalas were the last good looking Chevrolets. Just my opinion of course, but everything afterwards had the "bumper-car" no-bumper look, look and the euro-japan pulled-back "styling." Some great looking wagons on that truck! Thanks for the picture!

Hey ClassicFitness, thanks for sharing this pic! That image brings back memories I have of seeing blue 'GM' car carriers as a kid cruising the NYS Thruway with cargo looking something like this. Mmm, the good ol' days.....
