    I'm sorry.......

    ....it's STILL a FALCON.
I guess the guy likes them, but a Falcon is so.....so..................ordinary. Know the phrase " Can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.....
    .
Gotta give they guy 'A' for effort, though. Certainly the most luxurious 1963 Falcon wagon on the planet.

Hey Rev, you inspired me again, pal! :)

Somewhere in the dark caverns of my memory, your remark triggered my recall of a Car ad my dad had kept of the first car he bought after WWII. All I could remember was the slogan, so I went on a Link Fester search.
The Slogan was "Ask the man who owns one." The car - Packard.

    Nice site too.

The point: Every now and then, we get miffed that non-wagon owners pi$$ on wagons for being gas guzzlers, when in fact, they don't tell us they have to rent a truck to haul the appliances, the lumber or do the common stuff that families do. We know the advantages. The fact you own 6 of them is testament enough that the little beasts were made Ford Tough, before Ford figured it out. And some guy did his best to make an iconic piece of art out of his.

I remember what Rolls-Royce printed next to "Horse Power" in their specs, too: ADEQUATE.

You need not feel insulted. You own 6 of these more than adequate proofs that a compact wagon can take the heat, and remain integral. Now the Falcon descendants, like my elegant Fairmont Squire just took advantage of all that Ford Falcon experiment and built them to 1982. Says great things about the history of these Falcons. The eye-candy is a judgement call. The facts speak for themselves. (y)

    Sorry, Rev.....

I'm just of the mind that if invest 30,000 + (just my rough guess) in making over a vehicle, why start with that? The first generation Falcon was pretty basic.

You know, I think I AM biased on this one. I learned to drive in my parents' second car - a 1963 Falcon Futura 4-door sedan; Red; 6-cyl; 2-speed Ford-O-matic. This was actually my step-mothers car before she met my dad. (can you see where I'm going with this?)......I didn't like the car then. Still don't like it. Now, if they guy had picked the '64-'65 Falcon as his base - I'm all over that one. (which is funny, 'cause they're not that much different underneath).

So I'm not sayin' anything more on this one......
