I have a 64 Olds Dynamic 88 Fiesta wagon and the chrome around the top of the drivers door is bent badly. Would this chrome be the same as on a 4 door hardtop car? Would it be the same as on a Pontiac or Buick wagon of the same year? I'd appreciate any help. Thanks
It would be the same pieces as on a 4-door sedan, not a hardtop... Hardtop (no frames around the door glass, no upper center pillar between the doors - lower lock/hinge pillar only): Sedan:
If you are talking about the stainless trim on the window frame on the doors, yes, the FRONT doors are the same on any 1963-64 GM B-body four door sedan or wagon. Of course, the back doors on the wagons are different from those on sedans. 61-62 may also be the same, but I don't know that for sure.
In Oldsmobile jargon, the term "sedan" could refer to either a hardtop or a b-pillar car 4-door car. In the 88's (Super 88, Delta 88, etc.), 4-door hardtops were typically called "Holiday Sedans" while 4-doors with B-pillar were typically called "Celebrity Sedans." All the term "sedan" meant as far as Oldsmobile was concerned was that the car has four-doors. Here's a page out of the '64 Olds brochure. The green car, which is a 4-door, b-pillar car, is a "Celebrity Sedan," and the red car, which is a 4-door hardtop, is a "Holiday Sedan." Both cars are called "sedan" by Oldsmobile.
In the late 50's, Dodge used the name "Lancer" to describe pillarless hardtops. I guess with the "Holiday" name Oldsmobile was using the same marketing strategy. Sorry, got off topic for a moment. As Joe mentioned the rear door trim on 61-64 Chevy-Buick-Pontiac-Olds wagons may very well be the same, but for the front door trim on wagons and sedans, keep in mind that the A pillar (and vent window on the front doors) was very different on the 61-62 models, so you would be limited to 63-64 trim for the front doors.
