At just under $7K, his asking price is a steep for a car that has sat for 10 years, needs a carburetor rebuild, has a non-working A/C, and has "some electrical accessories not working."

In its present condition, this is a $3,000 to $4,000 car. Mileage is high, though, at almost 150K, so maybe closer to $3K.

Pretty color but asking price is wacky...

Agreed to everything stated above about price and mechanical concerns. I must say those wide white walls caught my eye though. Still wouldn't pay that price for it though...

Carburetor Rebuild? The 1988-1990 Chevy Caprice Wagons have Fuel Injection. Did these Buicks not get that or does it have an older engine in it that was stuck in later?

Don't tell me. Tell the guy who wrote the ad. He's the one stating it needs a carburetor rebuild. I'm just repeating what he said. I assume he knows what he's talking about.

I had a 1988 oldsmobile custom cruiser and it was a 307 v8 4 barrel carb. I believe 1991 is when they became fuel injected

So were the Chevrolets the only full-size G.M wagons in 1988-1990 (G.M. Wise) to get Fuel Injection?

I don't think it's clear that even the Chevrolets had fuel injection. Where are you getting the information that they did?

Here's two sources both showing specs for '89 or '90 Chevy Caprice wagons, and both show engines with 4-bbl carbs.

    http://www.automobile-catalog.com/auta_details1.php

    http://www.edmunds.com/chevrolet/caprice/1990/features-specs.html

For comparison, here's the Edmunds site showing specs for the '91 Caprice wagon, and it does show a 5-liter V-8 with fuel injection.

    You appear to be correct.

1989 showed first year for Fuel Injection according to Wikipedia, sorry. My mistake.

Did the 1990 Buick wagons also have the front seat belts installed in the doors, like they were on the Chevys?

Yes. All the 1990 box wagons would have had them - needed to meet changed government-mandated safety requirements for the 1990 model year. You can see the door-mounted shoulder harness in this pic of the wagon for sale.

Ah yes, now I see it, you're right Marshall!

So that was to meet new safety standards of that time, but today this feature makes the 1990 GM box wagons/sedans less popular?
