Totally loaded up including the rarely seen factory vinyl roof - only option I see missing is cornering lamps! http://cleveland.craigslist.org/cto/4637405443.html Seller is correct. This OCC is in a movie I've never heard of. See 1:19. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2zN53Vwnz0
I notice a few things missing: - Rear window defogger (there would be a switch for it next to the cruiser control switch on the left side of the instrument panel) - Comfortron (it has the standard A/C system) - 8-track player (it has an AM/FM radio, and I'm not sure it's FM stereo. Both stereo and monaural were available). - front bumper guards (it has the rubber "rub strips", but not the vertical guards on each side) You can see the guards on this '73 Ninety-Eight: The car for sale does not have them: On a more serious note, something is going on along the top edge of the tailgate in this photo, especially just right of center. Rust? This is the only photo he has of the rear end with the tailgate up. There also looks to be a small dent in the tailgate right in the center just above the woodgrain. Overall, yes, it is a very nice car, but I would want to know more about that rust for a car he wants almost 9 grand for.
I don't think it's rust because there is no hint of it anywhere else on the car. Most likely just where the original paint has flaked away. I do think it has the original paint as claimed, as the spare tire wheel is still black, not body color as so often happens with repaints!
Probably so, but to my mind, if you're asking 8 grand for a car like this (which is a bit on the high side, in my opinion--this is at most a $6,000 or $7,000 car, but it's a good asking price), you should be directly addressing issues like this in your ad. Let's see some photos of the car's strengths and its weaknesses!
Except for the wheels, this one looks remarkably similar to one for sale in Michigan a couple of years back. I inquired about it and the owner did provide pics that showed undercarriage and door rust.
