I'm a big Vinylex proponent, however it can't seem to get the really black stains(I think these are just from 50 years of touch contact) out of the red vinyl in my CP. Anyone have any cleaning secrets? I've seen and am going to try toothpaste to lift the stains out.

agreed, try one of the magic erasers. I have had pretty good luck with them.

Magic Eraser Report: It did get a little of the staining out, but I am leary of it eating up the vinyl. I assume it is some sort of micro abrasive based on how well it did clean the kitchen sink.

Toothpaste also did not remove any of the staining, although it does smell minty fresh now.

Try one of your favorite floor cleaners diluted with water.

Not saying it would not work, Andy. but some of those cleaners can be/may be a bit to strong and attack the old vinyl even when diluted....just saying.

And to ad, I also would think the magic eraser would cause to much heat = eat up/damage the old vinyl.

How about old school mineral sprits, dampen and let sit for a time. Then old school by hand with gentle scrub brush work it out? .... But do like I would do, TEST it first on a small area, or is you have can get ahold of a old POS vinyl seat as a test mule.

I did try the Spray Nine, but while it did get a little out, the heavier stained are pretty stubborn.
I tried some straight Simple Green as well, but that was not effective either.

I'll try a couple of other things and will report back if I come across the magical removal elixir.
