Stumbled across this site today. Looks pretty interesting.

My name is Dan and I'm in the Twin Cities area. I drive a '99 Volvo V70R. Love the car, done some mods. It's practical, safe, and sleeper fast. I love all sorts of cars. I have a 66 Mustang Convertible that I've had since college that is needing some love too. Someday...

Anyway, quick pic (photography is my other hobby) and a hello!

:Welcome:We don't have near enough Volvos here. You are a welcome addition. My boss has a 93 Volvo wagon that's now working past 252,000 miles and still kinking. They take it everywhere.

Safe is an understatement, I have been in two Volvos that I am convinced that saved my life. I had been hit by a gravel truck at about 50 while I was at a stand still. I was in my '81 240 DL wagon.

In 1998 I started to work on them as a profession. I was coming off a major expressway here in Chicago, I was on the right hand turn lane. I was hit about 50 mph (again) by a lady in a Honda Accord reading a novel.

Each crash, I simply unbelted and got out of the car. Since then, I have had 5 240 series Volvo's. My next Volvo, I am looking for is a 960/V90 wagon. The last Volvo I had, was a 1983 240 GL wagon with 160K miles, and before that a 1979 240 DL wagon with 299K miles on the clock. When it comes down to it, its maintence and more of it.....

    Welcome to the board.

    Welcome to the forum, Dan.

I've ALWAYS wanted to own an 'R' wagon. Unfortunately, finances arn't keeping up with my desires. I did go out and DRIVE one that was at Carmax a few months ago - a bright blue '06. I think I'm in love (but don't tell my wife).

Are you a regular over on V70R forums?

Occasionally there, but they are more in to the later models. I'm mostly on volvospeed.

FordWagonNut1979 - I love the 240 model and hope to find a nice 240 turbo coupe or wagon some day.

Volvo's are good. Not my cup of tea.I'd sooner by one than a Beemer or MBZ,though. They're a little small for me and my family. And the bunch of stuff we go everywhere with...I really liked the photo---an uptown lady at the skid row railyard.A Transporter 4 kind of thing.;)

It has TME sport springs and koni shocks. Different rims than stock. Upgraded the ECU with a performance map. Mesh grill. Custom boost gauge. A few other little things. I'm going to retrofit projector headlights in and put in a car pc hopefully before this fall.

    Like your 850. (y)

Hi, nice Wagon. For a long time my wife and I have said that "if" we ever decided to again buy a new/newer model wagon that it would be a Volvo.
