I don't remember seeing that color on any 1970 Fords before, so without consulting a brochure, I'm guessing at least the color isn't original.

There was a discussion here before about hood scoops on Torino wagons, and whether or not they were available as an option.

Pretty cool car! (y) The hood scoop looks like it belongs on this car, even if it isn't original.

I just wonder: when will people learn how to rotate pictures before posting them on eBay ads? :slap:

I asked the seller to post the Marti report and he has done so, interesting numbers on this rare car.

I thought I'd seen pics of this car before.

The 429 was available as a regular production option on Torino wagons in 1970 -- that is the 360 hp "Thunder Jet" motor. The Cobra Jet and Super Cobra Jet motors were not RPOs for the Torino wagon, although there were supposedly some equipped with these through special order programs. This car's VIN does indicate the 429 is original.

Not to repeat the hood scoop discussion, but I'm pretty sure the GT hood and the "California Special" script are not factory original to this car.

Note, too, that the Torino Squire would normally come with the standard Torino grille badge, but this one sports a "GT" badge. Moreover, it's a badge from a 1971 Torino.

This appears to be a truly exceptional car. At least I certainly hope it is, because otherwise, this model -- that I dearly wish to acquire one day -- has been priced out of my reach. In any case, I think someone who appreciates the "unusual features" of this car is going to get a unique wagon in what looks to be extraordinary condition.

I remember when the current owner joined here on the forum. I fell in love with this Squire then. Would love to have it, but already way out of my price range. Here's a quote from his original post. My guess is he added the hood too.
