Been many years since I've seen one of those....
Cool looking front end. Anybody see a '78 Buick Electra in there?

Very cool and rare car. All of the informative sites mention how rare these cars are.

Some of these were really loaded and plush. This one appears to be the more base model. If you notice in the pic in the bottom left some of these had leather interior and upgraded door panels.

Same basic body as the Chrysler New Yorker - just a bit cheaper.
This was a new body this year. No wagon version.

    I had 2 1980 New Yorkers back-back great cars.

St regis is a good looking version my late uncle had one identical to the one for sale.

Most of that model were the police car version of the line.

I had a '79 New Yorker with the 360 4-bbl, leather, and every option offered except the Fifth Avenue package, sunroof, and CB radio. Paid a grand for it in 2005. Put maybe 7K miles on it and then sold it to a guy in Ohio, who flew down and drove it home. It was dark metallic red with red interior, had a true dual exhaust (no cats) added by the PO, and ran beautifully! I sold it after I found a '78 NYB Salon 4-dr hardtop in Iowa; and since I had been looking all along for a silver '78 NYBS, I sold the '79. These are great cars that got short shrift by Chrysler in the marketing effort. The '79 Fifth Avenue is one of my favorite big Mopars.

It's too bad Chrysler quit making the BIG Town & Country after '77. This newer platform would have made a great station wagon. By this time though, the Chrysler minivans were in the pipeline, and the end was near......

Yes, you almost never see these. Been a few years but a older fellow here had a factory 2 tone green one....and blow my mind I found a pic of exactly what his looked like. I remember the old man driving it as far back as the 80's as he often put it in local car shows. He kept it looking as if it just rolled off the assembly line, the shine he kept on it was stunning.

When I lived in Manitoba, Dad bout a 80 Plymouth Caravelle for my sister new, I don't remember seeing any luxury models but there were several Cop models waiting for pic up by the Winnipeg Police, all black except for the white doors...kinda like this but no lites or police stickers, but they had 1 spot lamp only on the drivers side

In 1985 I bought an '80 at the local sheriff's auction, they were selling about 40 of them. I paid $350 for a 140k mile car in all white. Kept it for a couple of years, putting another 40k on the car and then sold it for $400. Man I loved that car. The only thing that didn't work was the headlight covers. I had to manually crank them down then leave them that way.

The base St. Regis was almost identical to the Chrysler Newport. In Canada, at least, the St. Regis was only available at the Dodge dealer, where the Chrysler was available at both the Chrysler/Plymouth and the Dodge dealerships. Plus, the Newport was priced in the same ball park as the Dodge, and people would gladly pay that little bit more for the prestige name plate. Too bad, too, because the Dodge was a really beautiful looking car. Loaded with options, too, they were very close to the bottom line New Yorker for comfort and convenience.
