85 Caprice Estate. When its really cold outside, the turn signal indicator on the dash doesnt work!! even thought the exterior signals are working fine. The left one is more sensitive to the cold than the right one. Why would these not work only on cold mornings and nights? o_O

Nothing surprises me about cars anymore. When I had the loose wire on the voltage regulator and the battery got low while driving the right turn signal flashed much slower than the left.

As for my opinion maybe a ground. Could be that when it's warm a ground is making better contact than when things are compressed when cold. Other than that you got me!

i was thinking along those lines, the signals work properly except for the indicator on the instrument panel. and then the right one works before the left. i was thinking maybe the bulbs are loose in the socket and when its cold the contacts arent touching..

Corrosion in the socket would pick up humidity too.

TBird is probably right. I 'rebuilt' all my grounds and battery cables based on this Sticky from here:

For Fox Ford cars, the common complaint is about dim headlights or dash lights. After I did that Big Three ground rebuild, my Halogens shine like the Sun, and I can even read the speedometer with the dash lights dimmed right down to almost nada.

For GM-specific tips, this might help:
