    If this has been done already then delete it, or reprimand me I am after all the fng and probably deserve it..

    My '67 Polara is a nine passenger car that's black on black with the rear facing third row seat for all the kids to play in and barf their guts out from looking backwards while the car is driving. It even has the bumper steps for easy access and of course, it's own ashtray...again, for the kids.

    One of my favorite wagon attributes are their vehicle specific options. Like wind deflectors, roof racks and hey, third row seats. If the third row was present then it also led to other options like grab handles and bumper steps. Let's see what's out there.

    I'm trying not to be a hypocrite by starting this thread and not posting pics but my car is stowed away for hibernation. Since it is New Years eve day I am going to go out and wake her (and my neighbors) from her slumber and try to take some interior shots.

    Welcome to the Polara Lounge.

    The electric rear window gave me some grief in the -10*c. cold (that's 14*f. for you southerners) but the tired motor eventually groaned and revealed the treasure trove within.

    72, I guess you still haven't figured out what's wrong with it yet? That's a shame, but your third row seat looks great, regardless!!
    I'm sure you checked it, but are you sure the emergency brake cable is okay and not holding in the on position?
    Oops, sorry Polara. Didn't mean to hijack there!!
    Your Dodge looks cool. My uncle had one back in the sixties that was beige with the wood. I liked his so much better than our Ford because ours was steel sided.

    I love large wagons. They are the Ultimate Land Yachts.

    That Kingswood interior looks awesome. I love the forward facing seat with the single folder on the second row for access. Does the long side fold as well?

    Hey, who made the wagon with the side facing seats in the back? I think it was a Chevy product but can't remember the model or years.

    Ford and Mercury had the side facing seats from 1964 I belive to when they stoped making wagons.

    Thats right, but I think it was starting in 1965 with that redesign, but those would have been made starting in late 1964.

    Yup, my '83 Country Squire had the inside facing rear seats. They worked well too as the seat cushions could be removed entirely if you wanted to use the under deck space for storage

    As one of 4 kids out of 10 relegated to the rear seats in a 66 and 67 Ford, Can I tell ya,... nothing but knee knocking, head banging and elbow flinging;
    and that was when we were all getting along. It didn't help that I was a tall kid and the floor well is/was too shallow. Rear seating for two or three is much better tho not as trick looking.
