Ahh, how can you forget this wagon! If I recall, when it was on eBay last year the bidding got much higher than I thought possible, $8K range or so. I think however a proper set of wheels would give this baby a whole new prospective.

The paint on this Plymouth is diabolical! How could anyone think this looks good? :vomito:
And if you do something so bizarre, how could you think anyone else would want to buy it? I bet this wagon was beautiful before some freak got a hold of it! Probably gold or beige with woodgrain.

Thing is - it appears to have been done very well. Paint job certainly isn't a 'Earl Scheib'

Just such a shame it has those colors. I sure hope whoever had it done like that enjoyed it.

Look very close at the underhood pic - you'll see a green hood hinge. This was dark metallic green originally.

The Fifties' wide whites and three-bar spinners look like $hit on this! Great on a pre-'62 car, but dead wrong on anything Seventies!

And the engine is incorrectly painted Ford Blue, versus the proper (and lighter) Chrysler Blue.

Lots of wrong for the money.

This is likely what it originally looked like.

If it were a cosmetic mess to start with, that would have been one thing. Agree, the wide whites and Olds flipper caps belong back in their era. I think Plymouth had a color called Panther Pink, for their high performance cars, so it's not too off the mark in originality. Someone I knew took a grampa Plymouth sedan with vinyl top, about the same age, stripped the top and painted it Panther Pink. Only saw it once afterward.

Someone on the city-data forums is talking about this car... about the color. I said if it were my car, I would paint it brown and put the wood-grain back on and someone asked me if I was kidding and said that wood-grain was the worst idea ever on a car and they thought it looked horrid. Apparently they are not a wagon fan. :)

Personally, I like the 2 tone paint treatment, just not THIS two tone paint treatment. Somehow, even though they are the wrong era, the wide whites do suit the car. I can see this one painted 2 tone blue, and looking really sharp. For a daily driver, the wood just seems like a lot of upkeep to me, and parking lots are definitely not wood friendly!

    oh those options

from what I'd read, the first year of Road Runner omly came in two colors' a beige color and---what one Plymouth executive referred to as "Pepto Bismol Pink". Panther Pink, as I understood it, was a Challenger color. But I could be wrong, I got this from some of those "informative" magazines.
