You know I'm surprised at how many sites don't offer that Intro thread. All the really good sites do, and they build a great rep and a tradition. The HAMB, this one, Ford Trucks, Ford Six, the Imperial site, some of my woodwork forums. You cut through all the 'Is he, was he, will he' stuff and get to know something about the depth and interest level and knowledge base. How can we help someone out if we don't know how techie or not he/she might be? How can we learn to speak OZ or Canuck, in our car terminology, etc. You're right REV and I'm glad you brought it up again. Come on folks. We gotta know you too. You came here to see, you joined up, and you liked the connection. You saw some our goodies, let's see who you are, eh?
I'm impressed with how many new intro's are coming in. I just did my intro post a week ago and it's already on the bottom half of the page.
Well, I have been here for awhile now, but I just went to the intro forum and posted about my wagons.
on my site the no intro doesnt bother me but not bothering to fill out all the info, local, age, etc etc gets up my nose!
Agreed. It helps to know something about the folks we're E-travelling with. I admit that I've seen some young wrench-monkeys that are fantastic alone, but when it comes to working together in a team, they walk. They don't get that we may just have some tidbit to offer. What's good about this hobby is that we are always students and teachers at the same time. We've forgotten more, but learned enough to stay with the class.
