I held out for 20 years figuring sooner later people will be in love again with the wagon! That's for being there guys, makes me feel good I kept mine all these years. Check my car out in the garage, gallery and via Google images... http://stationwagonforums.com/forums/garage_vehicle.php?do=view_vehicle&id=484 http://picasaweb.google.ca/105908860112140983297/65PontiacWagon#
Now that's what I'm talkin about Safari65 I so Happy to see folks keep the family car.Have fun and take your time.
Welcome aboard Safari65. There might be 10 members here with a family car they got from their parents, and maybe 3 like yourself, with one of the nicer classic ponchos.
, that is so cool, having "the origonal" family wagon. Have fun with her, bringing her back to life. Don't be a stranger, we all like restos, the before and after pics, the good and bad that goes along with it. I'm not intending to scare ya by saying bad, I hope you know what I mean, they may drive you nuts but it's all worth it in the end.
to the wagon train, saf65. If we get anymore saf's here we are going to run out of years! I love wagons that stay in the family and love those old Ponchos. Thanks for the pix!
hold it....you mean to tell me...there was a time when 'wagons' werent cool????? ...i seem to have missed that point in time............. to the toolbox
Hey Tedy... Just had to mention that, your Sheperds are precious hanging out the window of your wagon!! Have a great day!
to the show. Great to hear a family wagon will get revived... I had a '66 Catalina wagon about 10 years back - it was a lot of fun, and I really miss it...
Parts Thanks for the welcome guys. Pulled the front clip today, engine later this week. I'm going to need some parts for restoration. Mostly sheet metal. Does anyone have 65 Pontiac Wagon parts 4-sale?
Body panels can usually be had for sedans and HT, that would fit, and floorpans are adaptable. New ones anyway. Canadian Pontiac or US? Used? This guy might have here in Winnipeg: http://www.backyardauto.com/ I posted some pics of his older stuff in this thread: http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11047&page=2 New: I posted a swath of links for Fannie when she was looking for body parts in here: http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10516 You'll see some links to new floorpans as well as main body sheetmetal.
It wouldn't hurt to check with Marshall Autowreckers in Lethbridge. Don't know what they have any more but worth a shot.
