Hi, I like the old cars, I have a few projects, one currently being painted is my 1964 Fairlane wagon. I'm logging on to see if anyone has found replacements for some of the tailgate seals or know what will work. BTW I'm a designer at Mattel, I love old bicycles and old cars I also have a 57 Fairlane. My wife has a 59 Dodge, and a 33 Plymouth. Always interested in parts for those.
Welcome to the Forum Abe. Sounds to me like you have a nice grouping of cars to play with. Hopefully you will post photos of them.
funny you ask here is the wagon the previous owner ruined the paint with some bad primer, but underneath someone had done a full recolor to white, I am missing the data plate, but after pulling layers of paint it seems that guardsman blue is the original color, and that will be the color it'll be painted.
thanks guys, having a heck of a time finding a decent deal on wind lace, I think I found some cloth stuff for 1.20 a foot, but will have a lot left over. might post it for sale when I'm done.
Abe, that will be a gorgeous wagon when you are done. Please keep us up to date on the progress and good luck with the seals.
Welcome Abe This might help you seal up that Fairlane gem. Our Site directory has quite a few resto dealers in there, with all kinds of upholstery stuff, including windlace, weatherstrips, etc. etc. Check the Automotive Restoration section: http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/local_links.php
just posted new pics of the paint, can't figure out the direct link to the gallery here is one link note I also bought some windlace bu won't be installing for another 2 weeks. I have to have the body color sanded. <img src="http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/gallery/files/4/0/4/6/p1010164_original.jpg" alt="Paint And Windlace 1964 Fairlane" /> There a a few chips and there will need some touch up, there is an area on front pass side door that had a major clearcoat issue, it should get fixed soon, over really nice looking for 2K. This will be driver so I know I'll be getting stuff in the paint on the road.

Nice job, Abe and welcome. It looks like you're not wasting any time bringing that Fairlane back to her former glory. Best of luck and keep up the great work.
