1ST off...let me be clear. I do not post this looking for 3 pages of 'CyberSympathy'... ..and I almost put it in 'off topic'.. ..but the more i thought about it ... ..the more I realized how 'On Topic' it was!! I know the only person that probably noticed I wasnt around for a few days ..was Stormin but heres why.. About 11 years ago on a cold November night.. in a 72 Ford LTD wagon.. Stovebolt and I went and picked up a 'dog'..that I had found abandoned a few days earlier at our local dragstrip...some arsehole decided to JUST leave it there! the day i found her..I took her for a ride in my 69 Falcon wagon... she loved it !! To make a veeeery long story shorter... the point is....My dog..."KISKY"...went everywhere with me...carshows, drive ins, you name it...everywhere!!... ....Everything I own...is covered in white dog fur!!! She was the most consistent thing in my life ..for the last 11 years! She was diagnosed a couple of months ago with 'stage 2 diabetes'.. even with Insulin and all the other crap...she went blind.. and was losing her controls. Sunday night after picking up my newest addiction..I took her for ride in it.. ...that night she got bad. Monday night..I took her to the Vet...made the Vet come out to my Wagon..and do the deed in the back of the wagon.!! I couldnt stand the thought of her last thoughts being..'where am i?' And the Wagon was where she most at home. I spent the next 2 days crying like a 6 year old girl..and am getting weepy eyed as I type...I'm a wuss SOO..not looking for sympathy!!..and I dont mean to get all sappy Just a simple point...."a boy and his dog and their Wagon!".. ....Nothing is a truer truth !!... RIP puppy!
She rode in the best, with the best, her friends. You and the wagon. Your a good WUSS. And you're right I did miss ya.
Rev sorry to hear about your dog, that doesn't mean you are a wuss. I know you have a lot of good memories with your best friend riding in your wagon.
the dog is mans best friend...we have two of them ....I would be devastated if something was to happen to them...your not a wuss!...just shows you loved your dog!
Stormin...thats what I said too!!...WTF???? Our family has always had 2 dogs at all times...never in my life..did I ever hear of a dog having.. 'diabetes'.. ..so I took her to another vet...same thing!..plus 'glaucoma'...and kidney shut down! Insulin injections 2x a day !!...Eye drops!..the whole enchilada thanx for the kind words tho guys
Hey! Enchiladas put hair on a good shot of Tequila! You'd think dogs have a sixth sense to eat what makes them healthy and vendors would be careful to ensure they get the right stuff, not melamine powders mixed in with the dog chow.
Rev, sorry to hear about the loss of Kisky. I had to put down our cat last year and it was tough as she was with us for 15 years. I still remember picking her up in my mom's Subaru wagon and I brought her to the vet for the last time in my Volvo wagon.
Sorry to here about your loss I had to put mine down from cancer two years ago. I've got another great dog now that rides with me everywhere. On the bright side you will be reminded of her everytime you vacumn the wagon! John
John...you got NO idea!! ...she was a American Eskimo crossed with Wolf....3 times a year...my house, my cars, my friends....looked like a Herd of bunnies exploded on them!!!! i'll be finding 'white fur' for the next 4 years!! one of my friends used to joke that...when the Hubble telescope broke...it was because there was Kisky hair in outer space!!! ...he was serious
she sure was Stove...thanx for all!! Notice that EVERY pic of her...she's in a wagon!!...dont know how that happened
Rev she was a beauty. Wish mine would take to riding. I might have to get him a girlfriend and get her use to it to make him ride more.
