Very sexy. What's with Ford leaving the mean machines over in the Land of Auz? They could have all kinds of us North Americans drooling like 6 month old babies (one month for every cylinder :D), if they tested them in our flat prairie. :biglaugh:

Well I got the correct sized nuts for the scoop, I have notched the 3 inch pipe inside the box so the filter fits, secured the filter, bent some of the warped metal and cleaned up the welds. I also trimmed the bonnet only to find the setup doesnt move as much as I would have thought.
I have been driving it and it hasnt lost much down low but when the bbm changes you can definately feel the increase. Now I need to start getting it all prepped for paint but in the mean time here are some newer pictures and a video.

The BBM stand for Broad Band Manifold. basically each of the 6 runners/tubes on the intake manifold have a butterfliy in them which opens or closes and changes the lenght of the runner depanding on the RPM. Ford say this manifold increases low end torque and high end power with better fuel ecconomy.

Chevy had butterfly valves on their exhausts way back before Adam. Sounds similar. All it did was contain exhaust heat until the temperature was normal in cold weather. Wouldn't take much to make them a performance mod, except money.

Well the car is kind of on hold until I can get some tools, namely a sander. Today though I was able to tidy the car a tiny bit so it was one colour and dot some work on the grille. Although while I was doing this I was looking at the shaker I got to thinking about XY GT HO phase 3's, I have my own version of the shaker, the bodykit is part GT and if I was to paint it white why not put phase 3 graphics on it with my own twist. So I awaiting and attempting to do a chop to see what I might do but in the mean time 3 quick shots off my phone

The 'shaker' refers to the bonnet scoop/intake setup. Its refered to as the 'shaker' because of the fact that even though it appears from some angles to be attatched to the bonnet it is actually attatched to the motor and just sticks out threw a hole in the bonnet. Because is attatched to the engine, it moves with the engine so if you look closely at my video you can see the scoop moving side to side.

Ford australia did a similar setup on factory road legal race cars called the ford falcon gtho phase 3 back in 1971. Ford in the USA had something similar on mustangs i believe. Here is a Picture of a 1971 GTHO phase 3 which I am using to work out my possible graphic ideas

That car pictured above is the holey grail of aussie muscle cars. A good original one can get $650 000 plus australian with a few rumoured to have sold for over $1 million which is not bad considering they cost less then $5000 new in 1971 and were the worlds fastest 4 door sedan.

Anyways back to the wagons. I may just have to remove the 'venomous taxi' sticker from the front window and rename the project the 'Great White Shark'

My antenna shakes like that on a -40C winter warm up.:biglaugh:

Imagine a 4-door sedan for the average joe becoming the beast to beat! I'm gonna have to check on importing an Australian powertrain. My Fairmont would cross its headlight eyes!

no point. the phase 3 falcon had a 351 cleveland, 9 inch diff and a top loader manual transmission. Basically all it really was was a 4 door mustang

Nah, I'm wanting one of those Turbo sixes. I could get a 2.3L Turbo Mustang engine, but it would cost around $4,000 to rebuild and another $500 to refresh the Turbo unit. One of your Aussie Turbo six mills would do the trick for a lot less and I'd have commonwealth bragging rights!:rofl2::evilsmile:

Just need to work out which motor as there are roughly 8 versions of the 4.0L inline 6. only 3 of those are factory turbo motors and are really pricey. A motor like mine would cost just under 2 grand rebuilt plus turbo gear ontop of that which from a place with a good reputation can cost $3000 for 340hp at the wheels to $8000 for 800plus horsepower at the wheels. If not then there is a $4000 310hp supercharger kit and with basic maintance a motor like mine can do over a milion miles

Something under 250 HP (too many radar cameras takes the fun out of it), but enough low end torque to keep most rice-rockets in the rearview mirror. Low end and highway torque basically. I'd like to cruise across our Rocky Mountain range with the wife.

I would just get something like my motor with an aftermarket cam and it would go fine. I have a feeling that there might be a kit over here with custom engine mounts that would possibley come close to bolted a motor like mine right in and possiley keeping the C4 in the car

Anyways thanks to a member on another forum here are 2 quick chops. I personally am not liking the orange anymore but really like the other one. What are peoples thoughts? hopefully I can decide and get the paint in the next week.
