Grew up in Wagons. Best memories are the long road trips. No seat belts, sleeping in motels (or even parking lots if dad got too tired). Loved every minute!
KT, so you don't have a wagon now, but this is what I found on Chicago Graigs List.... 77 Volarie, says 26 thou origonal miles. I have a '88 Crown Vic but I'm giving it to my mom... Bought this '88 with my brother. My mom and dad, who are retired in Flordia, have a Chrysler minivan, a Honda Accord and a 1988 Crown Vic Wagon. When my mom leaves the house, she'll only drive the wagon! She's been driving wagons since the early '60s and it's all she's comfortable in. Problem is, hers has over 250K miles on it (those 5.0L's are bulletproof) and is starting to fall apart. They live in Daytona and love to drive it on the beach. That salt water is a killer on the car. My brother and I bought one that we found online in Dallas. He drove from New Mexico to get it. We're going to give it to my parents next month at a family reunion. It's beautiful: No rust, only 88000 orig miles. All the options. I went to get it from him and drove it back to Chicago last week. Wouldn't you know - someone broke into it in Memphis. Broke the rear passenger door window, took the radio and bezel. Have to get it back together quick!
KT, was it the stock radio? That's really odd someone would break into an '88 to get the stereo. With all the fancy audio equipment out there today, why in the world would they steal an '88 Ford's?
Andy and I went to the local JY and scooped some PDL motors from this 1975-ish Signature Series Lincoln. It had the Premium Sound system complete. You have no idea how much it hurt to leave it there. We just didn't have time, and it wouldn't fit in mine, regardless of the torch size or hammer.:banghead3: I don't know if a 1989 would fit, but we saw one there too, with a nice stock radio (AM/FM/Stereo) in it.
Now that's a nice thing to do for the folks....... Funny about Florida. I've seen some nice cars come out of Florida, but then there's others.........
