I just got back from the first night of the ISWOC convention and had a great time. Tonight, they cruised from their hotel in South Jersey to a local Sonic Burger where I met up with them. They're a great bunch of people and I enjoyed meeting them all. I talked up our forum and I think some of them are going to check us out. Believe me, they're all as nutty about wagons as each and every one of us. There were only about 7 or 8 other long roofs there besides mine, but it was so much fun seeing so many of them in one place. There was an '85 Colony Park, a 73 Montego, a gorgeous '73 Matador, early 90's RMW, 78 Malibu, a hot lookin' red Magnum and another one for you Mopar fans, an absolutely mint '62 Dodge. Some of these wagons came in from as far away as Ohio and Indiana! After we got done eating our burgers and swapping car talk, we headed over to this place on Rt 38 and drove some go karts around an indoor track. All in all, an excellent evening, I have to say. Apparently, this coming Friday niight, there's a car show at the Jackson Mall and from what they were telling me, there will be a huge # of cars there. They're going to cordon off a specific section for station wagons only, as they're anticipating a large amount of them to show up. Usually, this car show doesn't allow anything newer than a '74, but for this Friday, any year long roof is allowed. I'm going to try to make it and anyone else who might be free should try as well. It sounds like it should be pretty big. Saturday is their actual show from 12-4; don't know if I'm going to go, but I'll give it my best shot. I'm not very good at taking pictures, but I did manage to get two that are relatively blurry free!
Friday is Jackson Outlet Malls off 537 in Jackson. A good night is ~1k cars. One night a few years back they had ~3k cars! They pumped the 2 gas stations on the corner DRY! I plan to be down there, but I might not have the wagon. Gotta see how the motor swap in my cutlass goes. Saturday, I'd love to go to their show but its supposed to rain, and unless the forecast changes, its a bit to far to go with the impending rain.
Marcar, it's looking like I'm going to make it Friday night. Hopefully, I'll run into you. I'll have my CP.
I'll look for you if I can get there. Look for my wagon or a gray 87 cutlass. (Maybe an orange 76 t/a if I just go along with my dad.)
