Well I was cruising around the Dodge dealer on Sunday night and found a 1989 Mercury Grand Marquis Colony Park in the trade in lot. It was dark and I saw it from a distance, but it appeared to look ok from the front. Well I pull up close and get out to check it out and saw that it was a total wreck. Every panel on the car is smashed in and totally rusted out. The quarter panels are gone and were patched with duct tape. The interior was trashed and there were garbage bags over the front seats (probably so the salesman could move it because it looked pretty nasty inside). It is so bad that it needs one of everything. I didnt have my camera so i was going to go back the next day to get some pictures. Well just for the heck of it I went on thier website and sure enough it was already on there for sale and they think they can get $1500 for it. Are car dealers having a hard time finding used cars to sell, or do you think they are listing this as a joke? http://www.tysonmotor.com/used/Merc...+Marquis-d49053bb0a0a006401ba0609e4c88292.htm
It does look rough. Dealers are having a hard time finding cars like this to re-sell. C4C pretty much took care of this. Thats one reason I'm no longer selling used cars. It's a shame. Jon
A wise man once told me "If you don't ask, you won't get". Dealers aren't known for being shy. Never underestimate what a fool will do with his money either.
Good Heavens. $1500?!! Who are they kidding, but like ross said, I guess there's no harm in asking. I have to say, I was more than impressed with the bit of customization done to the left taillight. Quite creative I thought.
"Call (888) 400-5249 to learn more and schedule a test drive today....." Yeah, I'll bet they've got a long waiting list to do that.........
HAHA I was impressed with the taillight too. What I found funny though is that the taillight lens was sitting on the back seat and was still in one piece. I don't know why they did not just tape or glue the lens back on instead of covering the bulbs with the red tape. I guess that it adds to the overall redneck flavor of the wagon.
yeah, exceptional...in that "rides the short bus" kinda way! hey...if you want a winter beater wagon...here you go!
"With 167,746 miles, this 1989 Mercury Grand Marquis represents an exceptional value as a pre-owned Wagon."
