I think why older cars have such appeal is because they remind people how things USED to be. Let's face it, the 90's and 00's suck compared to the 50's,60',70's and even the 80's IMO.

Right on, mag....somewhere here I, long ago, wrote a post on that subject. Wagons represent the bygone era of the great America. I believe most people here, the older ones anyway, love that era as much or more than the wagons. I feel that era in my bones whenever I get into an old car. I don't know how old you are but I can tell you......those WERE the good old days. And I miss them more than I could ever explain.

I was born in 1965. yeah the younger generation think they have it all with the technology and such of today, but a lot is gone too. Christmas has all but been destroyed by commercialism. Seems like 95% of everything is made in China (remember when cheap stuff came from Hong kong & Taiwan?). Over 1/2 marriages end in divorce. We seem to have to work more and more to afford stuff. Can't go anywhere without somebody yakking on a cell phone. Drivers are more agressive as well as people themselves. The list could go on and on. In a nutshell, years ago, people used to be more friendly, jobs more plentiful, families closer, money was worth more, and life a bit slower paced.
