And I am a wagon junkie. I started of my wagon owning days with a little bubble windowed Pinto Panel Wagon the came to the end of its driveing days of a back road in western Ohio due to a close encounter with a rather large maple tree at a rate of speed that is best described as a touch too fast of that particular bend in the road. The car was running a 289HiPo and was great from red light to red light, Its cornering properties were less than adequite for my style of driving however. I have owned 5 other wagons however and have proud to say the my 1st and 4th child was concieved in the back of a wagon(thats right folks, I said it and I aint afraid to admit it either). Right now I am the proud owner of a well maintained and numbers rare 92 Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon. What I mean is that my car is 1 of 17 done in 1992 with the black over tan and wood grain. Of the the 17 none was done with the tan leather interior as mine was. It is a full options car includeing the full guage cluster and not the digital or the one with the lights. It also came with the ride leveling system on tit that I promptly removed. By the numbers my car is as rare as an Obama supporter at a KKK rally. Right now I am in the process of redoin some things on it to get it back to perfect order. Mechanically this car is 100% and the body is in real good shape with the exception of the rubber bump strips falling off it. I have added some pics fer you folks to look at of my ride. Oh yeah did I mention that I only paid 100 bucks fr my Roadie.

As I said the car had an alternator problem but that wasnt the reason I got it fo the $100. No I didnt beat the owner within an inch of his neither, I am Ugly but not overly violent (Ok i may have fluffed that last statement just a little bit) any way I was cruising Craigslist actually. I was tryin to find the yard apes one of those powerwheels toys or something to that nature and decided to cruise through the car section. Feller had it listed for 1200 (Even at 1200 this car is a great find for the interior was flawless. No tears or rips, the stitching in the seams are still tight, headliner is tight and not sagging). I went over to look at the car, got to drive the car, found the reason the car was loseing a charge was the power antenea was running constantly and bunt up the VR in the alternator. The owner dropped the price to a 1000 "just to get it out of his hair" I went to the bank and withdrew the grand went back out and had 1000 in my poket and this feller and his wife said that they had discussed it and since they didnt need the car anymore that if I was to give them the money for the new battery I could have the car. That was over a year ago and I havent had so much as a turnsignal light go wrong with the ca.

:Welcome: BU, great story and I believe you! I've had several wagons over the years, the most I have ever paid was $1000 , gotten 3 for free, and all the rest were under $500 and under.

the folks who sold me the car were just happy that the ride wasnt gonna get chopped up fer the motor or jacked up with 20 inch rims. Plus these folks had a 6 car garage and seven cars, he one outside was mine and they said they just didnt need it any more. I had the full thousand in my pocket and I tried to get the feller and his wife to reconsider the price. I am a honest man and i used to own my own body shop so i was fully aware of the value of the car when i got there to look at it. I was figgureing on at least some interior work or at the very least a headliner you know. when I got there I told he fellr that the car had a book value of twice what he was selling it for. His wife had a replacemnt Roadie in the garage with 60,000 on the clock. she said she would not drive anything but a Roadie Wagon till they couldnt be had any more. As far as other Wagons runnin around. These are popular cars around Knoxville. So far there is 5 real clean GM wagons between 92 and 95 funnin around here other than mine. There is a Olds Wagon floatin around that is light tan in color with black tented windows that looks sharp as a tack. Another feller about 25 26 in age has a Caprice done up in Black With the dark Pt Cruiser Wood grain Vynal and limo tent lowered sittin on 17 Torque Thrust rims. He has the Rims powder coated Black to match the paint but left the outer ring alone in the Brushed aluminum finish. This car is slick. He has been after me to get mine done up. Next time I see them fellers and have my camera on me I will get a pic of em fer your viewing pleasure.

Deal I got one wagon I would give up some body parts to find. Its small rear wheel drive and oriental. I got a 4.3 I have been sitting on for 6 months now. It came out an Astro van. It is a 4.3 HO 30 over roller that is severely rev happy for a pushrod chevy six. I have pushed this motor up in excess of 66oo rpms and she loved it and this was with the stock bottom end and a mild cam. I havent had the time nor the location to work on a project yet but mark my words, the Roadie is gettin a LS1 and a drop wit some new sneakers and I want a small rearwheel drive ricer that has got barely enough room fer a 4.3. I am thinking ISUZU impulse. I found one off craigslist here in K-ville fer 200 bucks and that aint bad. I am goin to go out and look at the car friday.

I traded two really crappy cars for my wagon. I've had a few problems with it, but wouldn't trade it for the world.
