Hi all ... I'm an Aussie with something a little different straight from the factory :pub:
There's some pics :camera: in My Garage ... see how you go picking the factory modifications. And yes Chev put the steering wheel on the right side.:tiphat:
I found her around 2003 in a shed 3 hours north of Sydney, she was stored by the first owner around 1985 with most of the original rear trim and seats. In '68 she was converted to a hearse, as I found out when I removed the hearse tray to find the guys had scratched their names on the underside it :camera:She sat idle in my shed till recently and now I have the seats back in her and a 3rd row seat coming from TN plus some other Caprice accessories.

In my other Garage I have some of my other Aussie cars. I've grouped them under Chrysler as there's no Holden section. For those that don't know Holden is owned by GM and produced their first car in 1948.
The 1959 Holden sedan was my first car and still has the thick plastic seat covers. 85,000m
The 1960 Chrysler hearse was purchased in Tasmania :taz: and drove back to Sydney better than a new car. 62,000m
Finally, the 1963 Holden panelvan needs full resto. I'm hoping it'll be a father/son project lol he was born 10 Dec 2009. Could never sell that one  too many good times, back in the 90's.

I lived in Oshawa, Ontario, where it was built! I also owned a 1968 4-dr HT. Great cars! Imagine that. Nice to see how they did the RH steering on yours. :Welcome: So you've got the 307 with all the emissions crap, or have you gutted that out? Also GM Canada put out a motor mount reinforcement kit (recall) for the RH mount on those 307's because the mount would rip off on that side. Its just a looped wire-rope cable bolted to the block and the crossmember.

Thanks for the welcome ... I'll get some more Aussie wagons pics up here for you.

The Eureka flag was the first flag we used in a fight against the British back in 1854. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eureka_Flag

Nah she's a 327 :whew:and as it happens I got an engine strap on ebay a while back ... was that recall for the 327 as well?
I blanked out a couple of numbers (probably safer) is anyone able to tell me what HP this 327 is? I've found it hard to get info on it, as there's only 1 letter at the end.

I don't understand? Is there a reason for blanking some of the numbers??
Can you tell me what year the engine is? I have some old sheets lying around and I can look for them if I have some ball park on the year. As it is...I'm sorry to say that I don't recognize that number you are showing as at all familiar. Not that that means anything.

Maybe it's paranoia but as the car's not been registered since before 1990 it's no longer on the government system. Someone could use the engine number on another block ... 99% chance it'll not happen but who wants the hassle. The chassis also has no numbers but there is a VIN under the front windscreen.
I'm sure to have real hassles with our government departments when I want to get her registered.

I'm very certain it's the original engine ... 1968 maybe a left over 1967. Do you need the all the numbers ... I'll PM them to you.

Well...I'm gonna GUESS it's a 67 engine in a 68 car....could be a 68 in there though. Also gonna GUESS around 220 hp and maybe 300 or so torque. IIRC those numbers went UP for 68. I will see if I can find my sheets....moved 3 times since I had those out.:)

I've looked and looked and can't find anything online ... thanks for the links. Tempted to write to Chev and ask them about a Tonawanda 327 ending in Q only. Are they any good with their records?
