.....I'm going to screw myself $$ wise when it comes to he Crown wagon I bout, that I hav'nt brout home yet:confused: This is Suzies wagon now listed for sale locally and it's a beautiful condition origonal paint/wood wagon and like she mentions it's the roof rack holes and rear windows that leak a bit in heavy rain but there is no rust perioud coming/showing where it leaks water and the wheels are mis-matched. She has always been on top off naintanance and has owned the car for years. If the interiour was leather it would be another story, I'd grab it but with the dogs velour is impossible to keep clean. But there is more to this story also, Suzie has canser and my honey and I have allwready told her we would take her rescue dog and if thats the case....I'd need a bigger wagon. Suzie offered us the wagon at a huge fraction of what she is asking, I'm sitting on the fence with this one, I really don't know what to do. Here is the add with bad pics, and it's a 305 not 302..... http://www.usedvictoria.com/classified-ad/11378856 Here are a couple pics of it infront of our house.
It looks nice from the pics. If the roof rack leaks a bit, its a good bet that the inside of the roof is going to have some surface rust, like mine.
Looks pretty good to me. I am guessing it shouldn't be too hard to repair the leaky roof rack. I hope this all works out for you.
How did I know you would spend my $$ Rev This Saterday we are going to look at the wagon, well I'll be going over it and the girls will be doing there "girly stuff". I've never driven or even been driven in this one although I see it alot and do know she maintanes it and it's all ways clean. I am offered the car very cheap but it will take away $ that I had planned on for the Crown. We'll see how it goes Saterday, I'll be bringing the camera.
Id have to buy it. Ive been looking for a Buick like that for years. Usually the roof rack holes just need the screws tightened. The rubber grommets work loose over time, and you just need to snug down the screws. My Chevy rained inside as hard as it rained outside till i tightened them down. And Scotch Guard is back on the market here in SC. Several years ago i searched for it and couldnt find it anywhere, but recently i was in walmart and found they now carry Scotch Guard to keep the seats cleanable. (im jealous, i want a buick or olds wagon bad.)
I've had a couple Rivieras, and I have to say that they were one of the more bum-friendly cars ever. My cheeks enjoyed the drive, short or long.
Had the same ishue with my old Colony, I also applied a blob of silicone to the screws and no more leaks. I'm 99% sure I'll be taking her home this week end. I'm getting it for cheap, real cheap and being on propane it will be pritty cheap to drive. I'll have to barn the Crown for awhile but this will let me park my Crewzer so I can putter on some mods...like a power sun roof.
Tell ya wut Rev......you find me a white with wood, burgandy leather interiour 1980 Merc Colony Park and maybe we could do a trade!
