1976 vega 2/door station wagon, only 30,000 miles

    "I don't know what its worth?" I've heard that one before. You get there and they sock you with an unrealistic price, then if you say no, they hit you with the sad story.
    I'd love a Vega, but not right now.

    I bet if you offer him a $100.75 he comes up a price real fast :idea:

    and ask for close up pics of the rockers ---:evilsmile: r-u-s-t

    I need the roof rack ... :thumbs2:

    (a quick goggle of that number shows he's a dealer -- or curb seller )

    According to the Old Cars Price Guide, a 1976 Chevy Vega 2-door Estate station wagon, which I'm guessing this is based on the wood siding, has a value of $1,660 in #4 condition, which means complete and running but needing restoration. In #3 condition, which means basically car show/cruise-in quality ("20-footer"), the value rises to $3,740.

    30k miles is about when the Vegas starting huffin' oil out the tail pipe.:vomito:
    The aluminum cylinder walls just couldn't keep the rings sealed......probably why they quit driving it.

    Ah but by 1974 GM started sleeving the engines and offered longer warrentees. Instead of bare metal the engines were being painted, blue I think.

    I had a 73 Vega in 77, had to fill it with oil & check the gas.......good to know they changed that design!

    somehow mine has hung in there :yahoo:

    81k on the clock and it running strong no smoke or oil issues :yup:

    cruises at 68mph nicely .. :character0182:

    it just takes a little while for it to get to that speed :floor_jack:

    and I'd take $3,700 for it .....

    I got my eye on a Dodge Hippe van
    complete with shag carpeting

    and a factory 4 speed!!! -- ....more room for my mutts and a tad faster off the line :rofl:
