I'm Zach, From Central CT. I have two wagons, but love all wagons. Both of my wagons are AMC/Rambler. A 1967 Rambler Rebel Wagon 770 Cross Country Wagon, 343 V8 Auto. And also a 1968 AMC Rebel 770 Wagon, 232 Straight 6, Undergoing a bit of a Resto-Mod right now. Looks like a great forum that I will learn a ton from. Thanks for Having me! Zach
Hya Zach..and to the toolbox I have a 65 American Classic 440 ragtop....so your not gonna get any AMC flack from this guy
Wow, I always liked the '67 and '68 Ramblers. My grandfather had one. Welcome!! I had an '83 Concord SW. Unfortunately it didn't hold up like the older Ramblers.
Cool, I used to own a 67 660 Rebel hard top with the 170 HP 232. Those 232's were quite reliable engines although the ford based automatic be a bit problematic.
AMC/Rambler guy! I owned 69 Rebel SST 290 wagon back in early 70's..as a daily driver.. seemed to eat freeze plugs.? I have a plethora of AMC s now... give me a shout some times by PM ( 232 cid 66-71 transmisson is Borg Warner based) used by even Saab and Mitsibuti in the early 70's.)
I like the 67 -68 Rebel Rebel wagons too. Check the Forums under Craigslist/ Auctions/e-bay. Looks like your wagon is for sale in Canada on Kiijjii. I kind of like the 67 Rebel Mariner wagon. Have you checked out this guy's collection? http://www.bigflea.com/amc/ He has all three of the regional Rebel wagons of 67. I guess to complete the collection he would need one with the regiular wood grain trim option and one without any paneling at all.
I stand corrected, The internals sure reminded me of the early cruiseomatic (C4). I still to this day don't know how I ever managed to shear an output shaft on mine. I wish I still had the shop manual for my 67 but it went with the car back in 83.
