We got home at 2:00am last night: safe, tired and surprisingly un beat up, considering that we just drove 2800 miles in five days in an essentially unrestored 50 year old car.

This should make a pretty interesting story, or stories. I have already started writing. Thanks to all that pitched in, or offered to help. Next time we do this, I would like to take time to visit all of you, but that would probably mean no magazines for a couple of months.

The trip took five days, which is flying and we only had one mechanical problem, a bad generator. Got 15 mph and ran at 75 mph all day long.

Now I need to figure out exactly what I bought and fix a few things. I did post a log and some pictures on our website on the forum. www.grassrootsmotorsports.com

You know how to write up a good story, Tim. She's a beauty, and obviously she liked you right back. Good stuff.:thumbs2:

Congratulations, Tim, both on the purchase and the successful trip. I'm sure you must've turned hundreds of heads traveling 2800 miles in the Edsel. What fun that must've been. Can't wait to hear more of the details.

A fun trip for you Tim. There is absolutely nothing as much fun as a road trip to pick up an old "latest and greatest" purchase.

I'll bet you made a lot of folks take a second look and remember the old days, wishing they were in that car instead of you.

We have folks in our car club with a '59 Edsel wagon. I'll see if I can get some pics and post them.
