So I found out that one of my three fusible links went out a 2 weeks ago. I asked a mechanic friend of mine if he could fix it and he said he could but has not done the job yet and I am getting very impatient since my wagon is my daily driver and I also hate seeing it just sitting and getting snowed on. I have a 1980 Chrysler Lebaron and this fusible link runs the dash. The car won't start and the oil light and the gas gauge don't work when I turn over the ignition like it normally does. If anybody could help me by telling me the location of this fusible link so I can change it to get my car running again, that would be amazing. Even suggestions on where to start looking would be great. I really need help/advice on this so if anybody has any idea, please let me know. Thanks for reading.

Sorry I don't have a clue but you need to find a chassis manual with wiring diagrams. Especially if that 30 year old car is going to serve you daily.

From our Ford Shop manuals, they say to go 2 Wire sizes SMALLER than the 'Link'. You need to know what the wire gauge is that runs on either end past the link. If it was 14 ga, you'd use 16 gauge wire, for instance.

Thanks for the tip, whenever I find the location I will definitely do that.

This probably won't help you immediately since you need the car operational right away but, for down the road, get the factory shop manuals for that car ASAP. There are several reputable guys on eBay that do nothing but sell factory shop manuals...notice I said FACTORY. Most often them come in 2 or 3 book sets that cover the entire vehicle. I get these for every car I own and they have been priceless to have. Do yourself a favor and splurge for a set for your LeBaron. You will NEVER regret it.
