1958 Hillman Husky

    I was taking to my father about any other pics he might have of his wagons the other day. Mom got out these pics I'd never seen before. She's not "into cars" at all, so she had never mentioned that she used to own one of these in 1968 when she met my father. Guess that really makes us a wagon family.


    In 1958 the new "Series I" Husky appeared. It followed the same formula as its predecessor, but was based on the new "Audax" or "Series" Hillman Minx. This time the engine was the new Minx’s 1390 cc overhead valve unit but de-rated to an output of 51 bhp (38 kW)

    Man I would kill for that little beauty. Bag it with some wide whitewalls. And a bigger motor.

    I remember seeing some of these around So Cal back in the early 60's....
    Those pics from England? If so, what part? My dad was from England.

    My dad had 3 customers with Hillman Minx at our gas station. I remember them well. One older lady had one and kept it absolutely CHERRY.
