I was searching around for "couple de fleur" and came across this site: http://www.hearse.com/pa/index.html
hmm if you think about it...a used hearse is the ultimate handyman wagon. the newer ones... 1. casket rollers and bumpers are great for loading and unloading plywood and drywall. 2. heavy-duty rear suspension is great for hauling said drywall and plywood. 3. most have interior storage galore. 4. most have a partition between "cargo area" and cabin. 5. you work out of a Cadillac! (well, sometimes a Lincoln or Buick...as if thats bad!) now that i look ...a coupe de fleur would be even better...it has ladder racks!
Uh, dead-ly website. I prefer my back seat passengers to be sitting up, thank you very much. But I remember a fellow in the late sixties who had a hearse and it was a ton of fun. Particularly on one day of the year..... Barry
I love those old Cadillac ambulances with the big bullet shaped red lights all over the top of them & it would be fun to own one too! Clark
My cousin was in a band called Photosynthesis back in the late 60's early 70's and they would get a lot of gigs down the Jersey Shore. He bought a retired 1958 Pontiac ambulance from the Beach Haven First Aid Squad and used it to move all the band's instruments from job to job. The local police made him take out the red lenses in those overhead lights so he replaced them with Budweiser emblems. That was a fun car, let me tell you.
