Man, that looks classy.

 

Interesting car. Definitely has some issues, but nothing crazy. Power windows are cool to see. Not sure what the story is on that double stacked transmission mount.

 

Sold for USD $16,000 07/28/2026. that doesn't seem bad. i've seen a lot worse on Hemmings for twice that .

 

Those double stacked mounts are only the beginning of woes. Taking over someone else's basket case will take more work than money, to get everything ironed out.
It's got to be an earlier 327, given the cartridge filter.
I didn't know, the '55s even had factory air conditioning. I thought, that began in the following year.
The transmission probably fried in stop and go urban California traffic, because a radiator for automatics wasn't used, bypassing it with that external cooler mounted in front of the wrong radiator.
Using the original front engine mounts and a later transmission mount is going to make that entire drivetrain wobble, unless something is done to either mount the bell housing back to the frame or somehow weld-in frame extensions for side engine mount use.
Those power steering cylinders are notorious for leakage. The new owner could do without, by simply removing the entire system and replacing that generator/power steering pump with an alternator.
Wait until the sand blaster joins the fun. That's when typical desert rust caused by condense water starts to see the light of day.
The list goes on. I hope, it dosen't drive the new owner to drinking, if it hasn't already
