I think La Lom are worth listening to. Early 1960s aesthetic, relaxing instrumental sound, a rare example of a group who normally use a vintage National Guitar with a Fiberglass Body that has a wooden center.

They do sometimes use this Kay Style Leader, too. It's also somewhat hollow, but it's not a Fiberglass build.

They released their first album on CD and Vinyl last year, too.

This post is a PSA: please just drive slow at night in residential neighborhoods even if it's a 30 or 35 zone.

I live on a 35 MPH road, and a neighbor lost their dog on Tuesday early in the night and it was not a small or dark dog, it was a large yellow and white one. I think she darted out from behind a car or covered motorcycle, and in a barely lit area. I'm not happy about it. The point is that 35 MPH, while often fine in the daytime, is too fast for a neighborhood when it's that close to blind spots. 25 is better like in town, but I feel like 20 is even better.

I forgot the name of the town that's abroad, but there's one town somewhere in Europe that changed the speed limit from 25 to 20 and it did a great job reducing pedestrian fatalities. Since I can't easily find an article about it, this other article from a town in New Jersey will have to do instead:

That's a HUGE difference just dropping from 30 down to 20. I try to stay at 25 or below in my housing development. Maybe I'll drop it down to 20 if I notice activity ahead.

We live on a cut through road from a main highway to an interstate. People fly down our street all the time despite the 30mph limit. We’ve witnessed 2 dogs hit and killed In the 9 years we’ve been here. The neighbors finally convinced the city to do something. So They put up radar signs on either end of the road that shows how fast you’re going and flash when you’re over 30. That has helped tremendously. I think for the most part people aren’t TRYING to speed, they’re just simply not paying attention. Then there’s the jack wagons who blow by the sign literally doing 60+.

Does this car belong to anyone on here? upload_2025-12-17_21-20-18.png upload_2025-12-17_21-21-1.png upload_2025-12-17_21-21-23.png
Clark Griswold vibes in the Queen City.

Jake Guarino of Litchfield was spotted with a Christmas tree strapped to his ’96 Buick Roadmaster while shopping at Walmart in Manchester. He says he’s always wanted to do something like this — “I just want to make people smile.”

Thanks for spreading some holiday cheer, Jake Guarino. It's a beaut of a tree.
