Well, it took a year longer than expected but she's almost done. 68 Chevelle Malibu 9 Pass Wagon I bought her from a friend who picked her up a few years back out of California. Body looked good, although the paint job isn't the best. Floors were rock solid with no thin spots. I got her as a roller, but she came with a brand new machined 327 V8 in pieces (not original, but correct date codes), some new interior pieces waiting to be installed, a horribly painted blue dash, and a whole bunch of parts all mixed together in boxes. Took her apart, installed disc brakes, dropped spindles, new springs, shocks, master cylinder, all new brake lines, rear wheel cylinders, prop valve, new brake hardware, shoes, and booster. Assembled the engine and added a CVF serpentine system with all new accessories, sniper fuel injection and distributor and ignition box and coil, ceramic headers, 2.5 inch stainless exhaust, rebuilt 200-4R transmission and new torque converter, new driveshaft (old one was damaged and from a powerglide), and appropriate dress-up parts. Cleaned interior, sanded and painted dash, painted and detailed gauge panel, rebuilt all gauges, replaced all switches, assembled instrument panel and installed, installed new headliner, installed new carpeting, recovered all rear compartment panels, painted and installed all interior trim pieces, fabricated custom bucket seat mounts, installed custom front and rear bucket seats, welded in new B-pillar and C-pillar seat belt mounts, installed modern self-retracting shoulder belts for front and rear, wired front buckets for full power and heat, wired for new sound system, wired and installed rear view mirror camera system, wired and installed 10.5 inch floating touchscreen head unit with wireless carplay and android auto, repaired and installed rear power tailgate window including dash switch, installed vintage air HVAC system, rebuilt steering column due to bad turn signal switch, replaced wiper motor, fabricated multiple wiring looms and installed, and replaced all seals. Replaced all lighting with LEDs including rebuilding switches, rewiring, and replacing most lenses and housings. All that is left are little things and adjustments like bleeding the brakes a little more to firm up the pedal, adjusting the tune, adjusting TV cable, alignment, charging the AC, adjusting the parking brake, troubleshooting the fuel gauge, better isolating the noisy fuel pump, chasing a ground loop in the stereo system, adding some panty lights, and fixing one of the horns.
