Man...first off, can I say what a gorgeous property that is as a backdrop for these pics?! o_O

As for the car, while this isn't my favourite 80s era Mopar body style, this looks to be an exceptionally well-preserved piece. I'm sure this will be a sentimental purchase for someone and they'll likely have the cleanest one of these left in existence. As always, I'll be interested to see where the bidding goes on this one.

This takes me back to my dad's minivan that I learned to drive on (which was essentially a K-car). I can feel all those buttons and smell how it smells still when new. Even the buttons on the radio and AC controls is the same (except the minivan was black trimmed). The silver trimming screams early 1980's and can't imagine they did it much longer than this year.

While it's a nicely preserved specimen of a less than thrilling era of cars, I can't say that I'd truly want to re-live those years in driving one of these. They were decent movers up to 50MPH or so but it seemed to struggle to do 65-70MPH - which is what the speed limit changed to during our tenure of owning it.

Yeah, my grandfather had a couple Chrysler New Yorker and LeBaron sedans from the early 80s and early 90s. I remember those interiors well, as well as the smell. Even the power control switches are the same as the ones in my grandpa's 90s LeBaron Landau. As was typical for the era, especially for Chrysler, as many parts got recycled from one car to the next as possible. I'd be willing to guess there are minor parts from that '85 Dodge 600 that are identical to ones used right through the last of the K-platform cars in the mid 90s. Heck, here's a power switch from a 1994 Chrysler LeBaron sedan, just like the ones in my grandpa's car. Look familiar? ;)...

Man, I didn't like these things when they were new, but I think these are neat now. What a period piece. These cars and their spawn were everywhere back in PA in the 80s, and I'm not talking just the Reliant, etc. - there were a lot of NYer's, 600's, Caravelle's, etc. Heck even my sister had an '84 LeBaron sedan that talked smack to ya if you didn't close your door and stuff. It was actually a pretty nice ride, interior-wise, but it wasn't a Turbo.

Very nice version of one of these, but still seems like a lot for this.

Agreed, but I guess that's just the market these days.
