It is. There was a website, but it's not showing up on Google. However, there are several sites and a Wikipedia page on it.

Yeah I followed the build on the serialized 262's, I love the design.

So apparently I got a little ambitious and decided to spray tonight instead of tomorrow.

I'll let it sit a little before I remove the the masking and look at it tomorrow to see how much blending or if I will need to lightly scuff and apply one more coat.

Spent the day putting the car back together, got most of it done. The real fun part was taking the side window glass & trim out of the gasket, cleaning it all then getting it all back together before I could rope it all into the body. Yea Mercedes,??? What a design, you have to first attach the trim to the gasket, then the glass goes in and finally into the body.

Tomorrow will be the finishing touches, a good cleaning and I should be back on the road Monday.

Nice. Yeah, someone else does the trim in the rubber (Ford trucks? I think?) and it makes installing the glass difficult.

The new paint is shinier but a good polish & wax helps the old paint to blend better which is fine for me.

92889CAA-3299-422D-A0C0-E7B119856980.jpeg Saturday night when the moonshine was right I traced out the lettering on the door that was clearly visible.
I had seen a post on another delivery found in the Salt Lake area. His was readable according to his post.
    U.S. Government
    For official use only
    Interagency Motor Pool

I have read the same on mine but I also have another line that looks like it might say Salt Lake City

Saturday night is definitely the night for moonshine! Friends don’t let friends drive drunk.
