It's basically a Chevy Avalanche before they were cool(were Avalanches ever cool?)

Way back when I first saw pics on these, I got the impression that International Harvester thought these would work as great 5th wheel travel trailer tow vehicles. Nope. Not enough clearance for the trailer to clear the cab corners, and generally, the wheelbase is too short to have the hitch balanced OVER the centerline of the axle.

Yeah, not even for a gooseneck. But, they would've been perfect for a standard travel trailer tow vehicle.

Check again, Leadsled! They're not the same. What YOU saw is an International Harvester, but it isn't a I-H 'Wagonmaster'. The 'Wagonmaster' is basically a I-H Travelall wagon, with the back part of the roof cut off - same wheelbase and everything. What YOU saw is simply a I-H crew-cab, shortbed P/U. I like the one you saw better.

Not really an old school Avalanche as the back window doesn't pop out and the rear bulkhead does not fold down to extend the bed into the rear of the cab. More like a giant Explorer Sport Trac.

I agree it is an odd model

    Sold for $37,000 on 6/23/22
I am surprised this went so high. But i guess redo the interior and you have a pretty interesting truck. The only one at about any car show you go to.

I think it is safe to say he way overpaid for that last year. Looking at the pictures from the current auction it certainly doesn't look like a $30k-$40k truck to me.

That's how the speculators force prices up...they keep re-submitting a vehicle in the hope some Joe Schmuckatelli will have more dollars and cents than common sense.

These IH trucks are super cool in my opinion, but they have never gotten the love that the FoMoCo, GM and Mopar trucks have.
