I'm sure there's a few there, you just can't see them. I wouldn't mind that Grand Cherokee on the far left.
Wow. Two ‘68 impala’s for under $400. I’ll take ‘‘em both. Hell for less than $500 all in wrap up the Bel Aire too!
University Motors was located at the corner of 1276 NW University Ave. and Richmond St. in the Hillcrest neighborhood of San Diego, CA., about a quarter of a mile north of the San Diego Zoo. This set of press photos were taken at the “Carnival Corner” celebration held in late 1958 to introduce the new 1959 Fords to the public. At “Carnival Corner,” for only a $359 down payment, you could drive home in a new Ford or, for a lesser amount, purchase an “A-1” used car or truck. The dealership apparently was active until the late 1980s but it hasn’t survived, the University Motors lot is now a part of a strip mall. Courtesy of The Old Motor
I remember University Ford from my Navy days. They must've went under around the time I was on deployment in '89? Because I hadn't heard about anything to that effect before we left in December '88.
Back in the day when New Car weekend meant something. One of my fondest memories is in the fall of ‘66 when the new Cougar came out. The Lincoln Mercury dealer had a huge cage with a live cougar in the middle of the showroom.
