These are the ones to get if you can tolerate the digital dash. 350 TBI motors with 50HP more than the Olds 5.0 motors or HT4100 motors used earlier. Lots of electrical doo-dad parts to go bad though and they aren't readily available, so be aware!

I going with $30k as a guess on this one when it ends. I don't get it, but it is what it is.

    What do you guys say?

Well its now at $16,000 with a little more than 1 day to go on the auction. I don't understand the high dollars these seem to sell for lately either. I would think 16-20K would be the high end on these, but markfnc is probably in the correct ballpark for the final bid on this one.

Albeit this is the last year for this body style I would still prefer the previous dual headlight model. Also never was a fan of the below belt line cladding. It seemed kinda cheapo to me. Just me. This is certainly a lovely example.

They really are comfy riding and great cruising cars and have a significant amount of the creature comforts that most modern cars have (add a touch screen radio and it's basically a 2010s car in a '77-'92 based body). Heated mirrors, automatic climate control, functioning cruise control, and power everything with a sofa seat.

That said, that is an awful lot of money to pay for them and they are not easy to work on or find parts for when the electronics start failing or malfunctioning.

Totally agree. Good luck finding a working computer in that 30 year old car in your local wrecking yard and even better luck finding someone who knows how to pull it out and install it.

As a case in point, the air suspension has a control module that sits above the rear axle. It's how the car automatically levels itself when heavy or light, it is really cool and useful. Problem is whereas Ford and Lincoln used 2 mechanical limit switches, Cadillac used 2 optical sensors on an arm in a black box. And the entire box is potted and not serviceable. And it's not been an available replacement from GM for 25 years. Same with the AC computer programmer or blower motor controller, except those 2 controllers changed every few years so a 1984 won't necessarily work for a 1987 and definitely won't work for a 1991-1992 despite functionally doing the same thing.
