7k-Mile 1974 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Sedan for sale on BaT Auctions - ending December 22 (Lot #62,093) | Bring a Trailer Just like getting a brand new 74 Olds in 2021
Very well preserved car, but it is a bland now as the day it was built. The only real options I see are automatic Air conditioning, The Mist feature on the wipers (not sure if that is really intermittent wipers like we would expect today, or a one time sweep feature that is spring loaded off like my old 77 Buick Century wagon had) Bumper guards & strips. It is a 4-Door sedan, not a Hard top. It looks like something my Grand Father would have bought. I think this is your Gandpa's Oldsmobile! Curious what it will bid to. I suspect the dealer expects much more than I think it will bid to based on Mileage & condition.
I agree with Jeff, probably the most boring and bland car you can get that year. The only options I see are AC (non-automatic), mist, and deluxe seat belts (of all thing). It even has the base model interior and the standard AM radio. It's low mileage and probably fine enough to drive, but with the low miles you really can't do that. It's a bland museum piece. At least it is a nice color and not some bland yellow\tan\white car...
I think cammerjeff was right on this one. Don’t know what low mileage is worth. Something that affects every car differently. This is no ‘86 Buick Grand National that went for over $230k, but the problem is low mileage is the only provenance this car brings to the table. I personally wouldn’t mind this car, but I could never drive it. Not sure a 15,000 mile Delta is gonna be worth more 5 years from now.
I don't know what they expect it to sell for, but I can't see anyone paying much more for it than it was previously bid up to on BAT. Its still a well preserved example (though I don't believe the engine compartment and paint hasn't been "touched up") and it is still dull.
