Hello, new guy here from Oklahoma. I just found this site this evening. I have had a few 78-81 Malibu wagons and my Father still has one he bought from me. It is an 80 model that has been converted to a 2 door sedan delivery type body and all blacked out, pretty cool looking car. He has it up for sale right now and I will put it up here for sale as soon as I have 5 posts. I have a 1970 Cutlass flat top station wagon, not the Vista, that is a wagon clone of my 1970 W-31. It is an ongoing project that is fun to drive and definitely turns heads everywhere I go! Here are a couple pics, thanks! My Fathers 80, has Prostars on it since this pic, for sale for $4500: My 70 wagon:
Very nice Boo and Cutlass! I bet finding older cars in solid condition is not too much of a chore down there.
Thanks for the welcome guys and the nice comments on the cars. Yes, nice cars are easy to find around here. Not to brag, but I have to turn them down all the time because, even though I want to, I can't keep them all!
You could start a side business transporting some of them around the USA, we need as many clean old wagons up here as we can get our hands on.
Nothing right now, broke as all get out. Spring I will probably be looking again tho. I prefer Roadmasters/Caprice Wagons 94-96 with the LT1 motors.
Gorgeous Cutlass wagon. I'm partial to early 70's Cutlass as my college car was a 71 black Cutlass Supreme convertible and after I graduated I bought a '73 Cutlass wagon. Was the W31 a factory option on the wagons as well?
Thanks! My High school/College car was a 71 Monte Carlo that I still have! I have several Cutlass projects from 69-72 right now but no convertibles at this moment. I do have a 1970 Cutlass SX project for sale that is the Supreme body but has a factory 455 and some nice options. The W-31 option was not available on the wagon or Supreme platform, only the "S" or F-85 bodies, because it was considered a factory racecar and keeping it light was a priority!
Good for you that you were able to hold onto the Monte. I regret, to this day, selling the convertible. I loved that car as did all my friends, male and female!! I guess the kids today would call it a "chick magnet". Anyway, at that point in time, it was sell it or get a job, so I sold it.
How about that, Now there are atleast two 2 door delivery G-body wagons on the site. Love the Olds too. Welcome to the site.
Thanks for the welcome. Yes, I did some trading to get the Malibu wagon and then sold it to my Dad. It is now a little lower in the rear and has Weld Prostars on it. I am actually going to look at a 77 Old Custom Cruiser that has 107K orig miles and the orig. Olds 403/400 engine/trans combo! I checked out your build on yours and it is definitely coming along great, I will keep checking back on it.
