Hi all. Just joined up this afternoon. I don't have a wagon yet, well, unless our Subaru Forester counts. I currently have a 66 F100, in the middle of a 5.0 HO/EFI and AOD swap on it. Previous work includes disc brakes from a mid 70's F100, dual mc, frame repair, and some body work on the front clip. Also have a 71 F100 with same disc swap, a 351W & AOD (autolite 4v carb). Both need varying amounts of body work and paint. We are starting a family, so thinking about getting rid of one of the old trucks and getting a classic wagon. Maybe a Falcon/Comet, or GM A or X body, who knows. Anyhow, that is not going to be for several months or so, but I had snooped once or twice before and this seemed like the site to be for this body style.
Welcome, We like all body styles of wagons here. So fly over the cuckoo nest here and you might find one locally here.
Good to see you come by. Sounds like you're up to your elbow grease in swaps. The guys are always posting wagon ads that they find, so you'll have a better than average shot at finding what you want.
I'd say a Subaru Forrester does count. It's as much a wagon as anything else here. They just don't call it a wagon. It fits the description.
Our 2008 Forester XT definitely fools people like it's a sleeper wagon. 0 to 60 mph in 5.9 seconds with a top speed of 155mph! To me it seems more like a little bitty hot rod suv, than a wagon. I have a growing family too and that is why my old cars have 4 doors.
Thanks all. Our subaru is not the turbo version, which I hear are really something. We have the normally aspirated flat 4. Seems to have good off the line torque.
