Having grown up in the muscle car era, I was a typical teenage gearhead. After 2 -56 Chevys, 62 Impala SS Conv., 1970 VW bug, 1970 Nova SS, It was then family vehicles for the next 40 years. I did have a penchant for antique boats & classic outboard motors that kept me tinkering. Covid came about with time to look back and decided to switch gears. Always loved 65 chevelles, but the chance of finding one at the price a retiree could handle , I looked at my options. Couldn't find a 65 Wagon, but did find a 64 Chevelle wagon that is in decent condition. It does need some help, but I am up to the task. Started accumulating some parts to upgrade the suspension, brakes etc. By this time next years it will be on the road. 350 / 4speed - cruiser not a show car.
My plan is to have it look like a drag car from the 70's (stock/ super stock look ).

Welcome aboard Mikeg. Looks like a nice solid wagon to begin your build with. It sounds like it will be quite the fun car when it is done. Looking forward to following along as you go through the process.

Welcome to the forum, Mike G!

Keep looking for that better-looking '65 front clip. It bolts right on.........
I'm guessing your wagon was originally a 3-on-the-tree, and a later owner installed the floor-shift and a 4-speed?
SELF EDIT: Just checked, and it MIGHT be original equipment. Brochure states you could get a floor-shifted 4-speed manual behind ANY V8-equipped Chevelle.
    Anyways, NICE wagon!

When I bought it, it was listed as a factory 4 speed. Due to some conditions, I haven’t been able to check all the tags on the car, other than it was an Oshawa Ontario car. I’m sure a good 65 front clip would be $$. I’ve looked around for wheels ( Cragar SS ) used, but all the deals are on 14”, not many 15” out there. Will just keep looking.
