Super weird ad. But looks like a nice CP. Has "many factory parts." Good price. https://annarbor.craigslist.org/pts/d/ann-arbor-classic-pet-hauler-1978/7247599416.html
This car was listed on eBay a few years ago by a dealer in San Francisco. The photos in this ad are from that listing and if I recall they were asking about $13k back then. I find this ad suspicious. Only an email is listed. I sent a reply requesting to inspect the car. We’ll see...
I thought i remembered those rims. http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/threads/1978-mercury-marquis-colony-park.43444/
I do like the deep dish wheels, and the Lincoln center caps are nice, but with my wheel cover OCD, would probably try to find the red centers. But am too surprised this is getting no action. Especially in light of what some lesser wagons of this model and condition have previously fetched.
Bill - you may have OCD with wheel covers, but I have OCD when it comes to spelling and car ads....this one is a clear FAKE! Obviously posted by someone not steeped in American English(probably from Nigeria or somewhere). They did their best to appeal to what they thought was a certain demographic, but none of us who have been around old cars and buying/selling/dreaming about those old cars would fall for it. "Impeccable German descent?" As Joe Biden would say..."C'mon, man"......they pirated the pics from a car that probably already sold. IF they can get someone to put a $500 deposit on their Paypal or such, this would be a decent payday in Nigeria. Even more the better....
