Had never heard of the Gold Luxury Group Option for 1974, but there it is.

    Hmm.....
Looks a lot like the Ghia interior in the mid 70's Mustang II...

I always thought Barnaby Jones was as good a detective, and he only drove a LTD. Maybe Frank could afford a Mark cause he worked out of a swanky apartment and Barnaby had a nice office and staff

True. Barnaby always had a Ford LTD 2-door.

They get swankier and fancier every year to include a 1978 LTD with a factory glass power moonroof near the end of the series, but I cannot find pics of that one online.

Here is Barnaby with a 1973 Ford LTD Brougham in the first season.

at least it was nicer than his "truck" in Beverly hillbillies. I think i read that was based on an Oldsmobile

Yes. The ‘78 Landau was the peak of his LTD fleet. However in ‘79 he reverted to a base ‘79 2 door brown of course with fancy wheel covers. Show ended in ‘80, and don’t ever remember him driving anything but the ‘79 in those last two years.
