I know he has 23K in it. https://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/bar/d/darien-1989-chevy-caprice-classic/7210522015.html
I know he has 23k in it But will he will get 23k out of it ? Would probably be a world record for a squareback.
The only way I see $23k there is if it was a completely rusty pile beforehand and he paid a shop, or he's counting the purchase price from 1989 as part of the cost of ownership. I'm not going to lie, it does look really nice and if you wanted one of these you'd be hard pressed to find one nicer in appearance. But all that money and it's still a 305 or 307 car as the ad doesn't mention any engine work.
Wowww,, you peeps really need to get a clue... Seriously,, look in the damn glove box... THATS where the 23 grand is...... All in cash too.... No coins tho... sorry... I know,, I know,, there is a coin shortage going on currently...
This brings up a good question: Did ANY of the Chevy 'box wagons' come with the Olds 307, or were they ALL Chevy 305's?
Yes they did. I've seen a few sedans and wagons with Olds 307s. It doesn't appear to be have been a super popular item, and I've seen more wagons than sedans with them (especially later in the model run of 1986-1989). I have no idea what determined which one you got (if it could be ordered or was regional based on emissions or build plant), because surely it wasn't a matter of whatever showed up on the line as the AC fittings and engine harness all had to change based on engine choice.
