And yet another 1981 T & C appears. https://stlouis.craigslist.org/cto/d/saint-louis-1981-chryslar-le-beron-town/7159913273.html
I wouldn't touch one of these with a slant six in it. The six was fine in the 60's, in a smaller, lighter compact car, or small pickup, but not in one of these, which are quite a bit heavier. Also, the late 70's/early 80's emission regs made the slant six a rather horrible engine, with not much horsepower.
Price seems absolutely crazy to me. As Krash has pointed out this is way too much car for that emissions restricted slant 6 but a plus is those engines can rack up incredible miles with little maintenance. My price is right guess for this slow boat is $3,250.
Why are any of us concerned about this car anyway? I don’t think anyone here lives in St. Louis any way. Lol Wonder if you flew in to buy it, would he check your license?
You gotta love an ad for a car that takes the tone that the seller is doing you a big favor by offering it, and you'd better meet all his terms or he won't deign to take your money for his vastly overpriced car. Krash Kadillak is very right about the slant six. My father had a '78 Aspen sedan with the 225, which was, at best, adequate. When you drove it, you could feel the smog equipment strangling it. I can imagine how it would be in the heavier wagon -- and in the luxury Chrysler at that.
