The rare 460 V8 and loaded up. This wagon belongs to a forum member. https://www.ebay.com/itm/293615890102
This would make a nice wagon for somebody. Fully LOADED. Doesn't need much..... Should be pretty quick with that 460. Had a 460 in my '79 F-350 crew cab, and it wasn't slow.....
The only real issue with this Montego is it needs new wood, but otherwise there is a lot to like. The full options and 460 are great.
Too bad. Haven't seen him around here in a long time. Used to be a fairly regular contributor to the board. I remember it took him a while to find this one with the 460.
Hi y'all. Sorry for being a slacker / disappearing act. A few months ago, I saw a picture of a '70 Country Squire, and was reminded of how much I love and want a 69 or 70 CS and those hide-away headlights. Long story short, I just sold the Montego, and am picking up my "new" '69 Country Squire in a couple of weeks. The '69 is much more of a project, but I'm good with that. Can't wait to get started.
Thanks! Not as much as I hoped considering its rarity and condition. But, there's just not much of a demand for Mercury Montegos.
You're right about the Montego market. Half the people -- even car people -- don't even know what a Montego was. That makes them a great buy. I own one myself. I hope yours goes to a good home. Can't argue with your taste regarding the '69/'70 either as my favorite car is the '70 CS. I've had three. Have we seen your "new" '69 online? There was one on ebay and another on CL that had a thread on the forum. I'd be interested in seeing pics.
The Montego is headed to Massachusetts. The buyer is a member here, but, like me, I don't think he's been on here recently. I created a new post about the Country Squire. It was on Craigslist, but I don't think it was ever shared here. http://www.stationwagonforums.com/f...he-newer-in-with-the-older.54256/#post-480399
