https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1987-plymouth-reliant-2/ If the 81 Aries was too stogy for you, how about this 87 Coupe? I sure don't ever remember seeing a coupe K car before.
Its a Fine Reliant automobile! Agreed that they were rarer than the 4-doors, but they did make quite a few coupes. It is humbling to think that this car is about a "sporty" as a K Car got. I forgot about the moveable light on the passenger side sunvisor. You could also pull it down and use it as a map light with the visor up. To bad a smoker owned it, and I have no idea what happened to the headliner, I can understand the sagging, but what caused the discoloration? The engine is clean, but again I can not imagine owning it. About the only K based Model I can even imagine buying would be a turbo Lancer. Maybe a Shelby Lancer if any of them survive. I know they are actually considered to be on the H platform that is just a stretched K car.
Shows sold for $1,800. That seems like a pretty good deal for what appears to be a fairly straightforward car. Should be some good service left. Don’t ever think it will be as desirable as a ‘55 LeFemme but it’ll make a good first car for someone.
